Gardening!

Notice the "grass pile of doom" in the corner. This is before we rototilled the last time and started planting.
Evelyn checking out the plants, she then proceded to "water" them with her sippy cup.

Last weekend we went to Home Depot and Lowes with a gift card our realtor gave us when we bought our house. We bought everything we needed for a garden of our very own! I'm so excited! I can remember not being so excited about gardening when I had to weed/plant/ help in my families garden growing up...but now that this one is mine! I'm sooo excited about growing my own food.

Evelyn was loving digging in the dirt too. Clayton was grudgingly helping and he keeps saying, "sure you're excited about garding now...but just wait and see who's going to be doing all the weeding when you're 7 months pregnant and it's super hot outside." Hahaa...well he's probably right but I still am loving being a real adult with a garden!

We planted: Corn, peas, beans, eggplant, red and yellow bell peppers, radishes, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, beets, zuccini, straightneck squash, pumpkins, and Evelyn's favorite Cantalope!.... but we ran out of room because of the humongous grass pile of doom that the previous owners left in the corner of the garden so I didn't get to plant my winter squash and artichokes! I'm bummed about that but I might have an alternative garden plot picked out so...watch out Clayton when finals are done! We also have a blueberry bush and a couple of strawberries left to plant.

I didn't take a final product picture yet because I want to wait for the little sprouts to pop up...it'll be more interesting that way.
