Clayton turns 32!

{Why yes, those are Barbie sparkly pink, purple and white candles on that manly birthday cake, Thank you for noticing. And I know there are only 9 and NOT 32, but his Birthday is the 9th of March. So give me a little credit for being creative.}

Admittedly, Yes. This is late. However I've been finding other less productive ways to wile away my free moments...some of which have been spent actually doing things meaningful like sleeping or doing the laundry or occasionally doing the dishes but most of them have been spent on mindless occupations. So here at last, Clayton's Birthday extravaganza.

The requisite self - family portrait sans one little Stella who was (per usual at family gatherings) blissfully asleep. Notice: Evelyn has lovely chocolate mouth and I'm half smudgy. { Note to self: Check camera lens after Evelyn has been "taking pictures" for tiny fingerprints.}

Actually it wasn't much of an extravaganza. We were both sick. Boo. Evelyn had fun, though. She was super excited about making daddy a cake and insisted that it be brown with green frosting. Might I say that I absolutely LOVE whomever invented the spray frosting with included fancy tips. Makes cake decorating a JOY. Evelyn also enjoyed throwing handfuls of sprinkles at Daddy's cake. Perfection.

We made a lovely steak dinner complete with sauteed mushrooms, oven baked garlic Parmesan fries and broccoli and went to bed early.
