Clayton finished his summer Diff EQ class (Differential Equations with Matrix theory..makes my head hurt just thinking about it! You know math is pointless when it goes beyond numbers and starts to incorporate Greek letters!) which he rocked! A- ! He's amazing. He came with us to Oregon to help my parents finish some projects and was monetarily rewarded for his efforts (much appreciated!) The "little" project of replacing a facet turned into replacing the sink and the faucet which led to replacing the wall, the floor and the sink and the facet thanks to some industrious carpenter ants and voracious wood rot. He also extended the deck, moved the stairs and built a covered porch. He's started the new school year and is liking his classes so far.
Evelyn had a great time in Oregon paying with cousins, chasing the cats and Monty, taking swimming lessons and going to the beach. We some all sorts of sea critters and she wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Since we've been home she's all jazzed to learn. She loves playing her learning games on the computer, playing with her wipe-off boards and watching the Leap Frog Letter and Word factory movies. She's so close to reading! I don't know what I'm going to do with her for another 2 years before she gets to start school!
Stella is 10 months! She's working on 2 more teeth (she has 4 now) and is so close to walking. She stands up in the middle of the room and just stands there for a little while. She's pretty graceful too, she kind of squats down to sit...she's got killer quads. I think I'm going to market the baby-exercise plan. She's always moving! She gets around great, gos up the stairs (but not down) and alternates between cruising and scooting down the hall. Her favorite spot to be found is either in Evelyn's room playing with the kitchen Grandpa Gerry made or trying to get into the bathroom. She's getting "angry" when things don't go her way. She says " ..At!" for Cat and she actually got the 'c' in there once. She lOVES the cat (whose name is Bob) and Monty. She's going to be a gymnast I think. She'll stand on up, lean over, put her hands down (like she's going to do a handstand) looks between her legs and giggles until you come over and help her do a somersault. It's so funny!
And I've just been trying to get the house organized and wrangle two little munchkins...no easy feat! Some days are a success and other's I wish I could get a do-over button. But that's defiantly life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
